Our Trainer - Dr. Theresa McCormack-Gow

The Kennel Club introduced the Accreditation Scheme for Instructors in 2001 to help provide a quality advisory service for the dog-owning public and enthusiasts, within all areas and all aspects of dog training and canine behaviour.

All members agree to abide by the Kennel Club Code of Practice for Instructors.

I have a university degree in Ethology (Animal Behaviour), a Doctorate in Ecological Studies, and have owned and lived with dogs since childhood.

I have been training dogs for over 35 years in a variety of disciplines which are recognised by the Kennel Club, these include Obedience; Agility; Gun Dog Training; Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme; Obedience Rally; Companion Dog Training

I am a Member of the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme for Instructors in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour (KCAI), working towards Accreditation and am also a KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme Approved Examiner for Bronze and Silver Award Levels.

I have a particular interest in Dog Cognition and understanding how recent scientific developments can be applied to Pet Dog Training.

My background

At present I have two Labradors, and have owned and trained several Labradors and a German Shepherd (a rescue dog) as well the family’s Shetland Sheepdogs and Miniature Schnauzers.

I am currently a member of several dog clubs and train my dogs for fun in Obedience; Agility and Gundog Working Tests.
